Reviews of BayView Radiology in Tampa

I had an ultrasound done at Bayview Radiology. Before the exam I was told how much I was going to have to pay after insurance, I paid, exam done, no problem. Two weeks later I received a bill for three times more than what I had already paid in the clinic. They added another exam that wasn't even on the doctors order!! After several attempts to contact the office manager, I was met with rude staff and no return calls from management. When I did finally get what they call an office manager on the phone (after 2 weeks of calling) she informed me that the 2nd exam was "medically necessary". My first exam was negative for findings, as was the second. How is that medically necessary?? I'll tell you how, they "padded" the bill. Meaning they coded exams that weren't on the prescription. This is common for upstart imaging/lab clinics, I know this because I have worked in a hospital for over 15 years. This practice is extremely illegal, but most patients do not know to question it. My advice would be to go anywhere else!! If you do use Bayview Radiology, watch your bill!!
