Reviews of Birkenstock General Store & Leather Goods Co in San Antonio

My daughter & I visited the Birkenstock store at The Strand, and I am reporting that the ladies who were working there on May 16, 2014 at approximately 2:15-2:30 pm were the most uncordial and lacking in social etiquette for a store which is one of few stores specializing in these shoes. I felt I was back in the to 60's, where only anglos were allowed in stores. The woman behind the counter who was not helping anyone did not acknowledge us, welcome us, or indicate she was there to answer questions regarding the products. I will never, ever step foot in this store. If I have to drive to Austin to purchase these type of shoes, I will. I will not subject my daughter, nor subject this type of behavior towards me ever again. On the other hand, The Strand has a reputation for having a "WASP-Y" type of atmosphere. Wake up "Strand"
you live in San Antonio, it is not that cosmopolitan, and a multi-cultural city. Managers, you may believe that could have been our interpretation, but let me tell you there are vibes and having had prior experience of discrimination, I know what I felt and I know what it is called.
