Prior to check-in, we contacted Wes (11/24 at 19:08) to notify him of our arrival to the rental property; we received no reply and therefore contacted him via phone call (11/28 at 16:12, 16:17, and 16:21). Wes finally answered our calls and requested that we send him identification. It was only until 11/27 at 17:37 on the day of check-in that we finally received the access code to enter the property.

Upon check-in, we noted that there was no welcome packet or basic house instructions, including guidance on how we could turn on the heat as it was noticeably cold immediately upon check-in. Wes responded to our communications and came to the rental property on 11/29 at approximately 13:00 to attempt to turn on the heat. He advised that we allow the temperature to gradually raise after tinkering with the Ecobee thermostat and left the property. That evening, we realized that the heat was still not on, and we reached back out to Wes the following day (11/30 at 16:05); it wasn’t until 12/1 around 15:00 that the HVAC personnel addressed the issue and noted that the gas had not been turned on.

We had also noted that the sheets in two bedrooms were marked with make-up, hair and unpleasant stains. We immediately washed those sheets and all stains were subsequently removed; it was clear that the sheets had not been washed prior to our arrival.

Amenities were not appropriate and/or in alignment with posted advertisement. The outdoor fire pit was not in order, even after connecting to three separate propane tanks sitting in the backyard. The pool was covered in leaves and later the pool maintenance who arrived mid-stay noted that the pool was “not in working order.” Lastly, and most significantly, the hot tub was at mid-level, and as you noted in your response to us on 12/21 at 11:58, there was no chemical floater in the spa during, before or after our stay, which as you stated, “could affect things if the water is not being treated with the chemicals.” Due to the negligence of the above amenities, and most specifically, the hot tub water, our guests experienced skin irritations during and following our stay. We later confirmed with a licensed medical doctor and were diagnosed with hot tub folliculitis, which we have had to treat since our stay.

We reached out on 12/7 at 7:01 after check out on 12/5 with a written statement of the above complaints, to which we received no response.
Due to the lack of response to our initial written complaint, we submitted the same written complaint to the Latitude 8 site on 12/10 at 13:38
