"we'll stake our reputation on it" is why I am writing this. I went to Blockers to buy furniture and it was single handly one of the worst shopping experiences of my life.
I went into your store, knowing what furniture I wanted down to sku #, the price and the sale price. I wanted to do financing, which I was told the day before when I called that all of the items were in stock and could be delivered this week. I got there at 11:30am it wasn't until 2pm that I was told because all of the items were NOT in stock, that I would have to put 25% down. The only thing I wanted that Blockers didn't normally stock was a foot-board, I agreed that because the foot-board is not one of your normal stock items that I would pay for that, but wanted to finance the rest with the 0% financing.
I was told that it was policy and I could speak to a manager. When he came out he immediately approached me like I was the enemy and was wasting his time. I said, I understand you don't want to restock the item that I was ordering extra, but the other items are items you normally stock, he said, well If you had CALLED I could have made sure it was here, I said I did call, yesterday and was told that it was here. He said well it's not NOW, so you have to pay the 25%. I said so there is nothing we can negotiate, it's all or nothing. He says Yes!!
I said, so thats it then? He said its POLICY you have to pay 25% on anything not in the warehouse,i said even if I leave and go somewhere else? He said that's fine, that's your choice. I realized at that point there was no talking to him. He is unreasonable and irrational.
The manager seriously acted like he was doing ME a favor and he didn't say "go F... yourself" but he might as well have, he did however act like he was completely offended that I wanted to talk to him and I was completely wasting his time, which he made me wait over 2 hours to speak with him......
He basically talked down to me the whole time, and was completely rude.
I was approved for $7000 credit limit and 0% financing what I was buying totaled approximately $3900. We basically were arguing over us putting down $500 to $600 or not and he was okay with losing the sale over $500. The only reason we bought the furniture was because at this point it was 5pm.
I would love to explain to an owner, that because blocker's has been around for 100 years doesn't mean I should feel privileged that they are WILLING to sell me furniture.
There are lots of other furniture places in Ocala and in the surrounding areas, everything you (Blockers) have can be searched online, you no longer have exclusivity here in town. People buy from you because your local. NO OTHER REASON. Your higher then other people and the way you speak to customers is offensive.
Within a few minutes of leaving your store I stopped at a PUBLIX to buy something for a headache, due to the stress at your store, and while waiting in line the gentlemen behind me inquires about the medicine, I explained that I had just left your(Blockers) store and he laughed and said, "YEP, been there, done that" He let us know that he had the priviledge of meeting the manager also, his words "Yea that guy is a real i****". I was shocked that literally within 5 minutes of leaving your store I ran into someone else with the same experience.
