Reviews of Long Beach Marina in Middle River

We had an event prior to our arrival so there was a few of us. That said four decided to have meals, three looked at appetizers and cocktails. My friend and I had joined the seated party of five. We had stopped at the bar for drinks and carried them to the table. We asked for separate checks, we were told we could only split it into two checks. Since my friend and I were just having an appetizer we decided to have ours separate. Water was poured, meals ordered with drinks. The meals trickled out in no particular order. We asked for condiments, and salt and pepper. Drinks? We didn’t see them until after everyone started their meals, but only because the staff was asked several times. The crab dip was a special for $11, it came with five very small pieces of toasted french bread. We asked for more bread. We received six small pieces.
At no time were we asked if we needed anything, no drinks were offered. We never did receive any condiments. When we got our checks my check for two people for two crab dips and a $2 charge for the “extra” bread and a 20% gratuity for $4.89 . I was shocked!
The place had just one other group in the restaurant. The wait staff was hanging out, joking around at the bar, certainly not seeing to the needs of clients. This was my first visit, I’m not sure if I’ll ever return. Gratuity should be earned, not assumed. Your wait staff would probably be more attentive if they had to actually work for the tips.
I get the large group thing and the added gratuity, but this guy did nothing to earn what was attached to our bill.
