Every responsible pet owner should read the California Veterinary Medical Board (VMB) public record and the reasons why they disciplined Elyse Kent. Its an eye-opener. The public record contains dozens of pages of critical information, all publicly available online. I was not aware of her record at the time Elyse Kent came to my home, or that the licensing board took action to discipline her for 5 years. If you want her to come to your home, my advice is to be present during the exam at all times. Upon her arrival (before she met my cat) Elyse Kent told me she wanted to examine my cat in the bathroom, and told me I couldn't be in the bathroom to comfort my animal during the exam. Elyse then closed the door. A few minutes later, I heard my elderly animal let out a chilling cry in a way I had never heard her cry before. I opened the door to check on what was happening, I saw my cat on the bathroom counter, with a hood covering her head and shoulders. Even though she had an assistant and the assistant said my animal was very sweet and well-behaved, Elyse Kent put a hood over my cat's head to do a basic exam (like listen to her heart and take her temperature) which left my mild-mannered elderly cat totally traumatized. I will never "un-see" that image of a hood over my cat's head. Imagine a parent seeing their child with a hood over their head at the pediatrician's office. It is the farthest thing from a "concierge service" that I thought I was getting when I paid her $750 for this for this so-called "professional exam."
