Reviews of Southern Hills Early Childhood Program in Lexington

Poor new leadership on all levels. New director is letting things fall apart and treating staff and families alike very poorly with no compassion whatsoever. Buses are driven by people we have never met, nor been notified they are driving our kids. It changes day to day apparently. Buses show up 45 minutes late to get our kids from school, and we aren’t notified until the following day.. After school program is run by a teenage couple which is gross and inappropriate, but it’s the pastors kid, so who cares? My youngest is barely being fed breakfast, one mini pancake one day, a fruit cup the next. Don’t want to serve it? Fine. But school yourself on how to do it if you say you’re going to. Grandparents day was embarrassing and my in laws were appalled at the state of the center. I’ve walked through twice and seen classrooms, including our own, out of ratio and milk in the hallways on the floor. Pulling my kids out ASAP. Be aware of the state of everything thanks to the pastor and Ms Williams. This center is gross.

I was informed less than a week before school starts, my children who have been there for years would not have a spot in the after school program. Unprofessional, to say the least and heartbreaking for my boys who found out abruptly they would no longer see friends they had been with since 2-years-old as well as teachers they love with all their hearts. The teachers are great, we love them. You really couldn’t ask for any better. Sadly, the new director/administration is the opposite. When policy changes SHECP, will not make the adjustments necessary to continue to provide the service the children/families currently enrolled in their program have paid for and rely upon. The new director asked me “What do you want me to do, strap him to the hood of the bus?” She showed zero compassion or empathy to a family who loves and trusted this establishment.
