I am a 72 year old, recently retired, registered nurse.after struggling for over one year with constant knee pain and trying alternative interventions I decided to get a total knee replacement. on the glowing recommendation of two of my nursing associates i selected Dr.Alexander.he is even better then expected. His bedside manner and warmth were what I needed to overcome my fear of the surgery.the follow up care was perfect.My pain management through recovery has also been perfect.Make no mistake there is a lot of pain after total knee replacement and I have been able to go to physical therapy and return to daily activities with minimal discomfort with the use of the correct pain medications.I have just entered my third post operative month.I am progressing ahead of the curve, with no negative effects from surgery. I had a meniscus repair in July 2015. Two days after surgery I suffered from a blood clot in my calf, Worst pain ever.Two weeks after surgery I had to have a large Hematoma removed from my knee. I now have a cyst in the back of my knee that is causing pain in my calf, hamstring and in the back of the knee down to my ankle and bottom of my foot. It burns and feels like I'm being cut with a razor. My knee is still very swollen and I can not bare weight well. I still have a bad limp and its November and still in pain all day everyday. I can't sit,stand or walk with out excruciating pain. And no answers as to why I am still suffering. Can you say f***** u* surgery. I will never advise anyone to use this do called Dr. Alexander. Sad thing is I also ran across another female that Is two years post op and suffers every day from the hands if this surgeon she to had a meniscus repair, dvt, hematoma evac from knee and not to mention we both are being told we need partial knee replacements. And the only thing he can offer you is pain pills and it will get better. Lol! You just don't know when. 42 and now walking like I'm 80 sad this is sad. I hurt everyday of my life more now than before the surgery. He is doing something wrong.
