FryeCare is a mixed bag of worms. The hospital, particularly their emergency and cardiac surgical units are among the best available. So are their physicians. But this is where the train breaks down. I tried for six weeks and was unable to get an appointment with their Vascular surgeon. And please don't misunderstand me, this was only to get them to schedule an appointment. They rejected it arrogantly. They lied, about receiving my medical test, and constantly changed their stories. I was never offered or scheduled an appointment with Dr. Piercy even after I called the Duke lifepoint offices. I even received a referral from one of their cardiologists. The problem is that their support staff are allowed to treat people like you and me with serious medical problems as if we were second-class citizens. I have Medicare and United Healthcare and my deductible was paid in January. So there was no issue with them receiving payments. In my humble opinion, if you have vascular problems, move on. But in the end, it’s your body and your life. If you are willing to play with these poorly mismanaged, arrogant office personnel just remember that you have been forewarned.
