BEWARE!!! Do not use this company for transmission repair or replacement. This is a scam. We purchased a Jeep Wrangler that had a transmission replaced less than 10,000 miles ago. The seller of the jeep called the owner (based on what he stated) right in front of me and confirmed the lifetime warranty would be transferred. That is one of the reasons we bought the car. The jeep had to be taken in before the 12,000 mile mark after replacement. I called the shop to ask if I needed an appointment for the service and told the person I spoke with that we just bought the jeep that had the replaced transmission and lifetime warranty, and they told me to bring it in before 4:30 any day to have them do he service. We took it in, and the manager, Sergio, said the warranty was non-transferrable. No one mentioned this before, even though they knew the story. The owner or manager had already confirmed it was transferrable via phone when we purchased the vehicle. Now we drive out of the way to go to the shop and wasted more time and effort. Again, the transmission only has 10,000 miles, and now they are saying there is no warranty at all. That is worse than any transmission replacement shop around. I called, and the lowest warranty I could find in a replacement was 15,000 miles, but most offered 3 year 100,000 miles. This place does not even cover 10,000 miles if the name on the title changes - even though they advertise lifetime warranties. That is absolutely ridiculous. Either you back your work and product or you don’t. If I follow the maintenance in the contract and use your service center as outlined, why does it matter? Even if you don’t honor the lifetime warranty, you should honor a typical replacement warranty, and they do not. To top everything off, the manager, Sergio was rude and cocky. He had the Gaul to hang up when I asked for the owner. I am going to post this on every media site I can to make sure people are warned about doing business with someone with an attitude like Sergio and getting transmissions replaced at SM, thinking they are getting a lifetime warranty and a best-in-class service when they are really getting an inferior service that they do not stand behind. Plus, they had two occasions to say the warranty was not transferrable but instead confirmed that it was verbally. Is that reputable and with integrity to you? Do business where you can at least get that.
