Reviews of Maps Towing and Diesel Repair, Inc. in Edgewood

On Oct 22, 2022, our truck, broke down on I-80 W/B close to Exit 209 at the closed weigh station. We contacted MAPS Towing and Diesel Repair, who agreed to tow us for $250 to their mechanical shop at 1222 E Cedar St, Rawlins, WY 82301. They arrived and towed our truck; however, after dropping it off at their shop, they invoiced us $1250. I tried to argue with the guy, but he insisted. He said he charges $650 per hour and is the cheapest in the city. He later gave us a discount of $200 and said that we could only remove our truck or the load if we paid him that money.


The distance between our pickup location and the mechanical shop is like 4 Miles; it is so unfair for them to charge us $1050, yet the verbal agreement was $250/hr, and he only used less than 1 hr. He used the fact that he had the load and truck in custody and used it as leverage.


On 10/26/2022, I hired another towing company to tow the truck to Peterbilt Casper, 125 miles from Rawlins. They charged me only $1400. This amount is similar to all the other towing companies in Rawlins, WY.

I dont understand why Wyoming lets these crooks exploit customers.
