Expert Roofing and Remodeling was contracted in July 2021 to paint cabinets and interior walls and replace wood flooring with planked vinyl. We were told by Eli that it would take a week to 10 days and professional movers would move our belongings into a 40 foot storage unit. At Eli’s request we received approval for the container to be placed in the street in front of our house.
The movers were actually the painters relatives. After a week, the furnishings had to be removed along with the container. When questioned the movers told us they were from “The lot” (Home Depot lot). Our custom made Amish oak furniture and everything else was stacked into our garage the blinds being walked in by these “professional movers that Expert Roofing claims they hired from Google” Furniture was scratched and gouged from being carelessly stacked.
Relationship between Expert Roofing and painting sub deteriorated to the point that they essentially were calling each other incompetent and liars. I told Eli and Daniel I would deal with the painter.
When the flooring was installed, I noticed areas that gave when walked on. Flooring sub assured me it simply had to settle. When I expressed concern about warranty the flooring sub gave me his personal cell phone number and said if I had problems to call him.
I was beginning to be concerned Expert Roofing would not be in business in a year.
After the painting sub had finished painting, I hired him to remove some shelves in master closet and repair and paint sheet rock. He had been paid in full for his work for Expert Roofing. This angered Eli and Daniel but it was on the subs own time and was an agreement between the sub and me. Expert Roofing did not receive any income from this agreement.
Expert Roofing did replace all blinds, repaired all damaged furniture and replaced all exterior screens broken by the “professional” clean up crew that were not allowed back on our property after one day. Expert Roofing also had a duct cleaning service clean our air ducts. I later used my own duct cleaning professional that did the job correctly. Expert Roofing deducted the cost of the cleaning service and the cleaning of our clothing we hired on our own.
Within 6 months our flooring began to buckle. The flooring sub sent a tech who determined the floor had not been properly leveled.
They claimed it was Expert Roofing’s responsibility not theirs. Expert Roofing said it was the flooring companies responsibility. In the end, I never heard back from the flooring sub despite being told twice by Eli that he would be calling.
The cabinets were prepped and painted so poorly that the paint can be removed by hand in strips. The doors were ruined and are being replaced.
Do not let this company or it’s representatives in your door! It tools us two months before we could move back into our home.
